![]() Battle Royales? Lack of NPCs on launch? It doesn’t feel like a real fallout to me. I just don’t like where 76 has taken Fallout. ![]() Sorry.I’m not trying to be hostile and I’m certainly not trying to attack you so please don’t take that. Your not dealing with Lyons here, the Capital or Commonwealth Chapters, your dealing with the Lost Hills branch. It was 200 years after the fall of the world and the formation of the Brotherhood, Lyons led a totally different chapter far away from the eastern chapters, and it makes sense that there could be ideological changes. It was still just remnants of the Mariposa Garrison under the command of Maxson hiding out in Lost Hills, riding the wave of the aftermath of nuclear annihilation.įallout 3 was an easy pill to swallow because it made sense. And lets not forget that at this time, the Brotherhood I don’t believe had fully been formed it. And lets unpack the rest of it, the Brotherhood.a tribe of techno-Terrorists who exist solely to collect technology(mainly military) from the wasteland and use it to control and manipulate everyone else while maintaining an advantage.would recruit.basically the equivalent of peasants.into their ranks on the other side of the map. For starters, I’m like 90% certain it’s mentioned multiple times in F1 and F2 that the only person the Brotherhood ever allowed in their ranks from the outside was the Vault Dweller. Elder Maxson got ahold of a bunch of scavengers in Appalachia by means of a satellite and then recruited them into the Brotherhood, upon the satellite going offline, he sent a team of his own people on a 5 month journey from Lost Hills to Appalachia to check on his chapter there. Now this is my understanding of the BoS events in 76. They were a xenophobic techno-fetishist tribe of assholes who only helped the Vault Dweller because the VD managed to do a task so downright impossible, they were intensely stunned by the whole thing, and only helped the Chosen One because they realized they were hopelessly, hilariously outgunned by the Enclave to the point of it being a a one sided beat down with Dick holding the hammer and they were willing to take any edge they could gain. The brotherhood were never heroes, or knights in shining armor like they were depicted in FO3 and to some extent FO4. This is really where it comes down to, it doesn’t make any sense. So it paints the BoS as the bad guys? Reluctant xenophobic assholes who spend most of their time collecting technology and killing anyone who feigns to get in their way? It is far from a perfect game for sure, but in the department of lore it holds true to it's predecessors. If you do play the game though, read the terminals, listen to the holotapes, pay attention the the details, you'll find that 76 not only respects the previously established lore but also uses it as the foundation of the lore it adds. I'm not writing all this to attack you or anything, but you stated you have never played the game and also don't consider it canon to the series and lore. Technically the "real" BoS have just now arrived, and Taggerty's Thunder (Applachian Bos) were only BoS in name sake due to having direct contact with Maxon himself, who names the group a chapter of the BoS. It uses and builds upon it to explain exactly how and why the BoS are here in WV 25 years after the bombs fell. I ask because the lore presented in 76 actually references the lore previously established about Maxon and the BoS that I'm familiar with from the original games.
